APTIS GENERAL

SPEAKING SIMULACION COMPLETA

PART 1 – 45 seg/pregunta

Talk me about your work or studies.

Right now I’m studying and working at the same time. I’m taking an online course because it’s flexible, and I work part-time in the afternoons. It’s a bit tiring, but I enjoy learning new things and improving my skills.

What do you usually do at the weekend
At the weekend I usually rest because I’m very busy during the week. I often meet friends for coffee or go for a walk. Sometimes I stay at home watching series or studying if I have exams.

Where would you like to spend your next holidays?

I’d love to go somewhere warm, maybe a beach destination. I enjoy relaxing, swimming and disconnecting from my routine. If possible, I’d like to visit another country to practise English.

PART 2

1️⃣ Describe this picture. (45 seconds)

In the picture I can see a young man sitting at a desk, facing a young woman who is sitting in front of him. They seem to be in a classroom or a study room. The man has a notebook open and he looks quite focused, while the girl is also paying attention, maybe listening or reading something.
There are books and folders on the table, and the atmosphere seems quiet and serious. It looks like they are doing a group activity, preparing for an exam or working on a school project together. Both of them seem concentrated and involved in their work.

2️⃣ How important is it for you to study or work with other people? (45 seconds)

For me it can be very helpful to study with other people, especially when the topic is difficult. Working with someone else helps me stay motivated and ask questions when I don’t understand something.
However, it also depends on the situation. If the person talks too much or gets distracted easily, then it’s harder for me to concentrate. So I enjoy studying with others, but only when we all want to focus and work seriously.

3️⃣ To what extent do you think students learn better in groups? (45 seconds)

I think group work can be very effective because students can share ideas and explain things to each other. Sometimes another student can explain something in a simple way that is easier to understand than a teacher’s explanation.
But group work doesn’t always work well. Some people don’t participate, or the group becomes distracted. So I think students learn better in groups when everyone is motivated and the task is clear. Otherwise, studying alone can be more productive.

PART 3

1️⃣ Compare these two pictures. (45 seconds)

Both pictures show city life, but one is crowded and full of traffic, while the other is calm and seems more focused on nature and outdoor activities.

In the first picture I can see a very busy street in a big city. There are many cars, taxis and people crossing the road, so it could be quite noisy and stressful. The buildings are tall and the environment seems polluted.
In the second picture, however, the atmosphere is completely different. There is a canal, some trees, and several bicycles parked near a bridge. It looks peaceful, clean and more comfortable for walking or cycling.

2️⃣ Which place would you prefer to live in? Why? (45 seconds)

I would prefer to live in the second place, the one with the canal and the bicycles. It looks much quieter and healthier, and I enjoy being outdoors. I also like riding a bike, so having safe spaces for cycling would make daily life easier.
The first city looks too stressful for me because of the traffic and the noise. I think I would feel tired very quickly if I lived there. So the calmer city would be better for my lifestyle.

3️⃣ How are modern cities trying to improve people’s quality of life? (45 seconds)

Modern cities are trying to improve life by creating more green areas, like parks and gardens, and by reducing traffic in the city centre. Many places are building bike lanes and encouraging people to walk instead of driving.
They are also investing in public transport to make it faster and more comfortable. Some cities organise cultural events, outdoor activities and community projects to make neighbourhoods more enjoyable.
Overall, the idea is to reduce stress and pollution and make cities safer and healthier for everyone.

PART 4

Tell me about the last time you visited a city that you really enjoyed.

How did you feel about being there?

Why do people enjoy visiting cities?

(En el examen: 1 minuto para pensar + 2 minutos para hablar.)

MODELO (2 minutos completos, B1–B2 natural)

I’d like to talk about the last time I visited a city that I really enjoyed. A few months ago, I spent a weekend in a very beautiful city with old buildings, cafés and a lot of green areas. What I liked the most was the atmosphere, because it felt calm and modern at the same time. There were nice places to walk, and I didn’t feel the stress you normally find in big cities.

I felt really good being there. I enjoyed exploring the streets, trying local food and visiting some museums. I also liked the fact that people used bicycles a lot, so the traffic wasn’t too bad and the air felt cleaner than in other cities I’ve visited. For me, it was relaxing and motivating at the same time, because I love discovering new places.

I think people enjoy visiting cities for many reasons. First, there are always things to do: you can go shopping, visit cultural places, eat in different restaurants or simply enjoy the energy of the city. Cities also give people a sense of freedom, because everything is close and you can move around easily.

However, I also believe that people enjoy cities when they are well-designed, with green spaces, good public transport and safe places to walk. This makes the experience more pleasant and less stressful.

To sum up, visiting a nice city can be very exciting and enjoyable, especially when you can explore different areas, learn new things and enjoy the lifestyle. It’s something I always look forward to, and I hope to visit more cities in the future.
